How to stay at home and earn extra income playing with dolls!

If you are anything like me, you would love to find an easy way to make some extra money working from home. Maybe you have searched the internet and found a lot of work at home “schemes” or scams, most of which tell you how you can earn hundreds or even thousands of dollars a month by blogging or reselling someone else's e-book. As you may suspect, the majority of these ideas aren’t very practical, nor very profitable. I know, because I have tried them.

One of the “schemes” I tried, that promised me tons of money, was to create a website that linked to eBay auctions, and somehow when the auctions sold I was suppose to get a commission. This was very complicated, even though I had experience in all these areas. Some of these ideas are very complex, requiring an awful lot of time and effort, not to mention extensive computer knowledge, or creating your own website. These get rich quick schemes include affiliate marketing, or article writing. For many people, this is just not worth the effort.

Sometimes the best money-making ideas for spare income at home are the simplest ideas. A great many of us are creative people, and often look for an outlet for that creativity. The way I found to make money at home is not the same old thing everyone else does. It is creative, relaxing, and just like playing. From my desire to create things, and my need to make money from home, I stumbled across doll repainting.

　Don’t be surprised if you have never heard of this. I hadn’t heard of a doll repaint until I came upon repainted dolls, custom dolls and one of a kind Barbie dolls on eBay. One of a Kind (OOAK) dolls and repaints can sell for hundreds of dollars! I was shocked at how much people paid for customized Barbies.

I had never owned a Barbie doll, let alone repainted one, but for some reason this appealed to me. I also had no idea how large the market is for this type of thing! Doll collecting is a huge hobby, with tens of thousands of people looking for new dolls to buy all the time. The economy doesn’t even seem to affect collectors as much as you would think. Collecting things, especially dolls, can be a great stress reliever and bring a lot of pleasure to the collector. Doll collectors are always looking for something special and unique. Nothing is more special than a one of a kind, custom doll.

I was at a total loss when I started customizing dolls because I had no one to teach me the process. I had to learn all on my own. I really had no ability and no talent for this when I started ten years ago. I quickly learned that even though my dolls were not very good at that point, there is a buyer for every doll. I would have made more money initially if I knew what I was doing! Still, I pressed on, and my dolls continued to sell on eBay, and I made money with my hobby, working from home.

I had zero painting skills, had never touched a Barbie in my life, and had never sewn anything before, yet my dolls still sold. If I did it, you can too! Only you have an advantage.
